The London Trip

I went to London in January for the publication of "The Organ Grinders" as well as the republication of "Pest Control". Random UK/Arrow Books first published "Pest Control" about four years ago in mass market paperback (the standard little paperback).

A year or so ago, for reasons I still don't fully understand, they decided to re-publish Pest Control at the same time they published "The Organ Grinders" for the first time -- but this time they published them in a larger paperback format (called 'trade paperback' in the US; it has a different name in the UK). So I went.

I had great luck with the weather -- London in January could've been nasty, but it was beautiful the whole time I was there. I saw a show, went to a museum, took a day trip to York via train, and did a series of drive-by booksignings. Had a good dinner at The River Cafe and another at an Indian restaurant called Zaiga (I think). My freespending editor, the handsome Andy McKillop, took me to a fine lunch one day as well. Random UK/Arrow Books/whatever it's called is scheduled to publish "Cross Dressing" in November. The cover art's around here somewhere. If you think it looks similar to the cover of Colin Bateman's "Turbulent Priests" that's because I asked my publisher to steal it because I thought it would look better on my book. To my surprise they took me literally.
