Mississippi Library Association Award

The Mississippi Library Association selected Bill Fitzhugh's 'Cross Dressing' as the winner of the 2002 Mississippi Authors award for fiction. R. Scott Brunner received the award for non-fiction for his book 'Due South'. The awards were presented in Hattiesburg, MS in the fall of 2002.


The Lefty Award
On March 23, 2001 attendees of Left Coast Crime 12 (in Portland, OR) bestowed The Lefty Award, honoring the Funniest Novel of 2001.

The nominees were:
Donna Andrews: REVENGE OF THE WROUGHT-IRON FLAMINGOS
Selma Eichler: MURDER CAN UPSET YOUR MOTHER
Jerrilyn Farmer: DIM SUM DEAD
Bill Fitzhugh: FENDER BENDERS
Susan Isaacs: LONG TIME NO SEE

And the award went to.....
Wait! It’s a tie! The 2001 Lefty Award went to:
Jerrilyn Farmer for DIM SUM DEAD and
Bill Fitzhugh for FENDER BENDERS
Congratulations to my pal Jerrilyn!

Also ...
CROSS DRESSING was also nominated for a Barry Award and for the Salt Lake City Library Association Best Fiction Award.
